Buy a size up! We measured our dogs, one small and large and it barely fits and their heads hang out the front way too far. So good concept but we need a larger size to actually work for our dogs. We have a Corgi and a golden retriever.Very hard to use if your dogs have major anxiety anyway.Maybe if I gave them some calming medication 1stThis changed not only my life but my chihuhuas life. I have never been able.to clip or file his nails because he has such nervous anxiety. I put him in this hammock and while he is still nervous we are able to get his nails filed which is amazing and will help his health.I can trim a lot of dog but he hates his feet done. This looked to big for my dog but it worked great. What can he do but let me cut his hair and nails.I have a Shih Tzu puppy and it's my first real experience with a dog that requires regular grooming. After a year of paying the groomer over $75 a month, I decided to do it myself, at least half the time. I don't have a professional grooming table so I found it difficult to use grooming harness, EXCEPT for this one. It doesn't require being clipped to anything so I actually use a tension shower/curtain rod to hang these from. It's easy to hook/unhook to drop one side. My kitchen sink has cupboards on each side so I can hang it over the sink and the clipped nails and the facial hair that I use scissors to trim fall into the sink. It makes for easy clean up. If I do the sani trim, I put a towel in the sink just because a lot more fur comes off and I don't want to clog my pipe. You can hang it over a bathtub or anything really but please make sure it's not too high and the rod is very secure. You don't want your dog to fall with scissors nearby. If you have a utility sink or other designated pet area, I'd permanently attach the rod. The straps show no sign of tear or shedding and the harness itself is very easy to clean. If your dog hasn't had regular grooming, he might be afraid. It's easy to put my dog in the hammock and it is heavy duty, with no tearing in the fabric whatsoever. I have two corgis that hate getting their paws touched and this thing has been a lifesaver. I use an old closet rack to sling them on. They are about 25-30 lbs each and the large size worked great. This saves me so much money from going to the groomers. Definitely worth the $15 price!This grooming hammock measures up to every statement made in the product description. My two Shelties (one smaller and one larger) both seemed happy when they were in it, and did not mind being lifted up by the straps. They showed no signs of distress and seemed relaxed. The end with more fabric past the openings goes to the front.
