I really like the idea of this. Navigating crowds with a smaller pup, and having my hands free. And my furr baby sure did get some attention with him in it.I had one, in which the zipper immediately broke.Determined- I bought a second. It held up just fine, so it may have been a fluke. Now, I bought a large. My pup - now 1; would be called a Chiweenie, if he were a designer dog (a long haired dauchshund - chihauhau mix)- but since he is a shelter dog, he is just another pretty mutt. He grew beyond the expected 10 lbs, and is 16 lbs. I believe we last used this at 14 lbs.Since he has a long doxie body - I believe he was a bit ling for it. I always felt I had to stabilize him on the bottom. It was a bit rough on my shoulders, which, to be fair, does have arthritis. It was nice to have him with me in crowded situations, where he would have wanted to be carried (such as art fairs, etc.). He has his faults, but is the most tolerant, patient sole as long as he is with me, to he tolerated it well, even though his tail could not be aligned through the tail slot, at all, and instead shared the hole for his leg. Sometimes, he also seemed to want to kind of shift into the one leg hole. But never complained. It may work for some other dogs- but the length and weight of my big little guy, it wan't ideal.I have since bought a pet stroller for these events. Unfortunately, other than a very short try out- I can't say quite yet if that will be the solution, as we have not had any opportunities for it. I am hoping when I go to outdoor restaurants, for it to be a solution - but during the trial run- he was unhappy. I will review that item once summer comes and we use it a bit. I will say this- I wished I had the stroller when we had no choice but to take him with us to the hospital when we had to be there all day. John Hopkins let us take him in with this carrier (against the rules!), but he was too uncomfortable to let him stay in it - so was outside with him most of the time.So my little Gruff seems quite content in this carrier. He was scared in the other carrier I got because he had so much extra room. I ordered the small for my little Grufflepuff who is a 2lb 13oz Shorkie. He has a little bit of room still but not so much where I'm afraid he will fall out. The material feels like a well made canvas and it is slightly padded to help with comfort. The neck is elastic so it will stretch if your pup is a little bigger.. The straps have no padding but when your pup is under 3lbs you really don't need any lol.I just received the large Hoopet dog carrier. My dog is a pom/Maltese mix and she weighs about 10 lbs. She's not very big in size. The bag is constructed nicely. The zipper/velcro enclosure is nice. I wish the straps were padded, because I can imagine that carrying my dog around for a while will get uncomfortable. The tail hole seems like it'd fit nicely, but when I carry her, her butt slides down a bit and then her tail becomes squished. She doesn't complain so I don't think it bothers her, but I wish the tail hole was bigger. It's a good bag. Not great, but good enough. At twenty pounds, my pup has just gotten a little too big for this. He still fits, but the top wont hold. I had some issues with the velcro- I wish the top was a little more rigid- but I cannot state how helpful this has been. You can almost take the pup anywhere he's in a cute backpack!Product smelled strongly of chemicals. Didn’t fit my dog perfectly, was too wide and too short for my dog to be secured properly and comfortably. Overall it did serve its purpose with some adjustments.I have a peekapoo who weighs about 11 lbs the weight is good but if you could give dog wedgies this would be a product for doing so. It also gave him chaffing after only being in it for 5-10 mins. On the up side the material is good and is well made. If I could change anything it would be the width between the back leg holes to keep this from happening. My dog doesn't get uncomfortable in this harness, which is a HUGE plus since I require him to remain strapped to me while hiking or walking for longer periods of time. It has made it possible for me to take my chihuahua on day trips that I wouldn't have been able to include him in before purchasing this product! Makes my dog happy, makes me happy! Thank you!!! :-)Cute product, and appears to be well made however, indicates a medium will fit a dog 7.7 lbs and was too small for my puppy who weighs 6 lbs. Frustrating as I had to pay almost $7.00 to return the item--half the cost of the item.
