This ramp definitely holds the weight of a large dog. It also provides good grip. The angle is very steep though. I had to add an 8 inch block of wood at the base to reduce the angle in order for my large labradork to use it. This ramp is big and cumbersome but the old girl can get up into the bed again so that's a win!P.S.: my cats absolutely love it! They walk up the ramp instead of jumping into the bed.
